Hallo and herzlich willkommen to Deutsch AF!

Deutsch AF stands for Deutsch als Fremdsprache (German as a foreign language) or simply Deutsch AF. I’ve created this website out of love for the Bundesrepublik Deutschland (BRD) and for others who are new to the BRD or are planning to come here. I’m a Nebraskan expat and have been living in Germany for the past 6 years. Throughout those years, I have worn many different hats: first as an IUSP exchange student in Marburg, then as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) in Marburg, Pädagogischer Austauschdienst ETA in Hamburg, University Hamburg MSc Student, just to name a few.

Ultimately this webseite is here to make you smile. Because there are a lot of really great about the DeutschAF life.

I hope you find this site educational and entertaining. I hope that it helps you decide to come to the BRD or to stay, it’s a good place to call “Heimat.”
